There is so much information a bride can get at a bridal show. Whether the show is large or small, attending these events are excellent ways to gather information. There are many bridal shows in the Smoky Mountains. We are sharing some tips on how to get the most out of your time spent at the shows, and how to use that information to plan your dream wedding.
3 Tips for Bridal Show Success
Attend Smaller Shows or Open Houses
We have had booths at several different bridal shows and open houses in the Smoky Mountains. We see how sometimes bridal shows can be overwhelming, especially if they are big. It may seem more productive to attend larger shows. However, we have found that the smaller shows and open houses are more intimate. At these smaller shows, we have the chance to literally speak with every bride about what she is looking for on her wedding day. We love to listen to their vision and help them realize their dreams. Honestly, we really want to help every bride, whether they hire us for entertainment or not.
Most of the vendors at these shows have knowledge and history in the wedding industry and therefore are experts. Brides can tap into this expertise. Larger shows gather a larger crowd. This means that you may not have as much one-on-one time with vendors.
Speak Candidly with Vendors
When you have the ear of a vendor, it’s your chance to gain knowledge and advice. Take advantage of the moment! Wedding industry professionals have knowledge in their line of work, but they can also give advice regarding other areas. Ask the photographer about a florist, a caterer about a venue, etc. Not only will you get a reference for other businesses, but you will also see the type of character in the person you are speaking with. This is a great way to see if they would be someone you would want working for you.
Not long ago, we were a part of the Smoky Mountain Wedding Association’s (SMWA) Bridal Showcase in Pigeon Forge, TN. This was one of the best bridal shows in the Smoky Mountains. The SMWA really wanted this event to be special for the couples who attended. Food, drinks, and prizes were there for everyone. They were wonderful and guided the brides to each vendor that they thought would be a good fit for them.
Attend Shows Near your Wedding
If you are planning a destination wedding in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, or Sevierville, it is best to attend bridal shows in the Smoky Mountains. Members from the Smoky Mountain Wedding Association hosted bridal shows in the past. This year they are trying something more unique and fun for those traveling to the area to get married. In this way, it will still provide an opportunity for brides to meet with local caterers, photographers, and other wedding industry professionals. Their Facebook page will also provide information about their vetted members.
All bridal shows are helpful, but attending shows near your wedding are best. That way, you get to meet with local providers that can help enhance your wedding.
