Advice for the groom on his wedding day

We are pleased to be a premier wedding entertainment provider and officiant for Smoky Mountain weddings. Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville make up the famous Smoky Mountain wedding industry, and Smokey Mountain Sounds helped hundreds of couples get married. We have seen a lot of things during our time in the wedding industry; some of them are good, and some of them are not. One of the most common negative aspects we see is a stressed groom. That’s why we’ve put together this advice for the groom on his wedding day.

The wedding day can be a blur for the couple, but the bride generally has more support than the groom. The mother-of-the-bride will look out for her daughter and the wedding coordinator ensures the vendors and services are on point, but who is looking out for the groom? Don’t worry – you’re not alone! These tips can help the groom stay on track and have a smooth and memorable day.

Advice for the Groom on His Wedding Day

Dress Appropriately

Wear the appropriate clothing while being comfortable. Have your suit or tux fitted so that you feel confident. You will be dancing at the reception and you don’t want to be embarrassed by a wardrobe malfunction.

Before the ceremony, plan an outfit to relax in, but don’t get too comfortable! You need to be presentable as you see so many loved ones before the ceremony.

Before the newlyweds depart for the evening, it is common for a bride to change into something more comfortable. There is no doubt that she put lots of thought into that ensemble. Ask her to plan an outfit for you as well. This action is not only a thoughtful gesture that she will appreciate, but you will look great as your loved ones and photographer snap photos of the departure.

Offer to Assist Your Bride-to-Be

Ask your bride-to-be if she has specific tasks you can take care of on the wedding day. Confirming vows with the minister, checking in with vendors, or picking up items might be a big help to her. This shows that you’re invested in the quality of the big day, and also keeps you connected to what’s going on. Additionally, it keeps you preoccupied which helps calm nerves.

Eat

The morning of the wedding can be chaotic. Take care of yourself by making sure you eat. Plan for breakfast and make sure snacks and drinking water are available. Stay hydrated, especially if you plan to celebrate with adult beverages later. That is perhaps the best advice for the groom on his wedding day!

Pay Attention to the Time

If you have a planned event with the groomsmen before the wedding, give yourself enough time to get ready without rushing. If you and your groomsmen are sharing a suite, take shower time into account. One of the worst things to happen on your wedding day is to be late or stressed.

Send Your Bride-to-Be a Note or Small Gift

The official gift between a couple on their wedding day is the rings. Historically, couples would even exchange elaborate jewelry, cuff links, and watches. Today, however, a simple note is the perfect gift to send her. Your note should let your bride-to-be know that you are looking forward to spending the rest of your life with her. She will be nervous about the day and your note will give her a moment to think about you and forget about her jitters.

Breathe

It is common to get anxious as your wedding time approaches. Remember to step back and breathe! That’s a simple yet effective piece of advice for the groom on his wedding day. Your wedding will be a joyous event, and there’s no need to stress about the little stuff. You are marrying the love of your life and you will have a wonderful day, no matter what happens!

Advice for the Groom on His Wedding Day

These tips will help you stay focused on the biggest day of your life. As you get ready to say your vows, try to savor every moment. With so many friends and family members gathering for the day, feed off their joy and excitement and avoid the stress and nerves that can arise.

By the day’s end, you’ll be married to the woman of your dreams and you’ll have your whole life ahead of you. Congratulations!
